Everything Wrong With “Aunty Aun Kya”


What kind of a disgusting world are we living in, and what sort of a despicable population we are that we are finding it alright to encourage the already deep-seated misogyny in the name of fun. For the uninitiated, “Aunty Aun Kya” shouting events and flash mobs are based on one of the crassest music videos featuring a primitive cave man with the narrowest and the most pervert mind-set ever – just like most Indian men. I am not linking the said music video to this article as I find it thoroughly revolting.

In the video, this idiotic moron describes in full perversity the body of a middle-aged woman, her clothes, and how he plans to rape her in order to rock her world. I couldn’t get through most of the video as it sadly made me want to violently shake up the dimwit who created this video and the millions of idiots who have endorsed it. Yes, India is endorsing this junk by participating in shouting events and flash mobs. Here is why I think it is wrong.

The video:
  • Objectifies women
  • Comments on women’s clothing
  • Body shames a middle-aged woman
  • Describes violent rape as something that gives pleasure to a woman
  • Kicks consensus out of the door
  • Encourages violence against women
  • Solidifies misogyny more
  • Shows women as property and not as human beings

The events:
  • Encourages violence against women
  • Solidifies misogyny more
  • Accepts property and not as human beings
  • Discredits consensus
  • Normalises rape
  • Says martial rape is okay
  • States sexual abuse is fine
  • Encourages violence against women

My list can go on and on. By participating in these shouting events and flash mobs, we as a nation and as a group of people are saying - all that is bad in patriarchal India, all the wrong that is being done to women is okay and normal and can continue as it is because we don’t care. We don’t care if women are being raped and murdered, we don’t care if women are killed for dowry – we really don’t care.

Keep it up people, because the idiot in the video is your vikas-purush, this is the only vikas you will ever experience. Evolution is supposed to take us ahead but because of this type of vikasit-janata, we’re only going to go backwards in every way, including socially and economically.

Even “Beti-Bachao” will not save India if this horrible evidence of our shamelessness is not brought to an end. I say ban this movement forever!

Novels Into Movies!

Reading a novel or watching a movie, which one would you prefer as your best mode of entertainment? In today's modern world novels are things of the past we'd rather prefer a movie. I'll tell you why. Who has the time to sit with a 600 page book for days together to enjoy a good story? Nobody, not today atleast. Thats why people prefer to watch a story that begins and ends within 3 hours and also gives visual pleasure. But my query is what about those movies that are made on these 600 - 1000 pages novels? Do we watch them? If we do, do we like them? Most of such movies are a filled with a little or (in most cases) lots of "masala" to suit the sesibilities of the so called "audiences". Africa!!! 'The Dark Continent" they call it. Why is it called so? Ever wondered why? Is it because its natives are black skinned? I don't think so. From my point of view it is 'Dark' because its highly backward. No amount of international aid can over come the rate of starvation deaths, infant mortality rate, and also the number of people infected with HIV and AIDS.
